After learning about UDL, one father commented, "This is transformational! I used to go to IEP meetings and ask only for special ed supports. Then, I asked for full inclusion, too. Now I will add 'expert learning' to my list!"

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework based on neuroscience research about the ways ALL learners vary. If UDL could talk, it would whisper, "The barrier is in the design, not the learner." UDL is about changing lessons--- not students. UDL is about access — designing so all learners can "reach" learning, and UDL is about agency -- designing so all learners become expert at learning itself.
